Lockstock

Yesterday we gathered in a rain-soaked muddy field above Raven Park and danced to an amazing selection of Glastonbury-based tunes picked by Miss Eve. You can find an album of photos over on imgur. Here is a selection:

Many thanks to everyone for joining us and making it all sorts of fun, to Miss Eve for a fantastic selection of tunes, and to Miss Anna for for another brilliant build for us to dance in. See you all in a couple of weeks!

Raven Park dance this Saturday

This Saturday it's time for another Raven Park dance. In honour of the start of the UK's traditional mud-bathing season we're going to enjoy the usual amazing collection of tunes from Miss Eve, while standing in a field, likely getting wet, worrying if someone's nicked our stuff from our tent.

We're calling it Lockstock:

Feel free to dress in whatever you think would be appropriate for an outdoor festival (although wellies might be a good choice, at the very least) and come and enjoy the best mud-soaked-gig-related tracks Miss Eve can find.

Here's the details:

Date: Saturday June 25th
Time: 3pm to 5pm SLT
Where: Raven Park
Music by: Eve Terr

Z&A Ironing Board

New in the main store and on the Second Life marketplace is a product that should sit well alongside the floor scrub. Aimed at those who enjoy a little bit of domestic service, it's the Z&A Ironing Board:

Designed as a simple device for holding and locking down an avatar while they help maintain the household, it contains all the usual Z&A features and restrictions. The board gives out the iron and will, when possible, attempt to auto-attach it to your helpful victim. It's also the first Z&A product that will try and use Experiences to make this work more smoothly (don't worry, it's an optional feature and the product works just as well without it; you can read more about using Experiences elsewhere on the blog).

As usual, the product comes in a transfer version (see above) and also a copy version:

You can find, and test, the Ironing Board in the new products section of the main store; it's also available for purchase on the Second Life marketplace (simply click either of the images above to be taken to the relevant listings).

The Z&A Experience

Some Z&A products need to seek permission to do things to avatars. A good example being wanting to auto-attach a prop. Until recently this would have required that the avatar who needs to wear the prop always gets prompted with a permission dialog. While seeking permission before doing something to an avatar is a good thing, it can break the flow of play. Wouldn't it be nice if you could give permission once and have it remembered in some way?

Thankfully Linden Lab introduced the concept of Experiences and they allow just that. Work is now being done to enable this in some Z&A devices. If you have such a device (you'll know if you have; you'll have got to this post because you read the notecard that said so) you can enable the Z&A experience on your plot (or have the owner of the plot enable it if you're not the owner) and enjoy the benefits of Experiences.

It's easy to do. First, pull up the details of the plot and go to the Experiences tab:

Click the "Add" button in the "Allowed Experiences" section and you'll get the experience search dialog:

The Z&A Experience is set to "Moderate" rating so be sure that you've got the max content set to Moderate or Adult. Type "Z&A Productions" into the search box and hit the "Go" button.

Select "Z&A Productions" from the list and hit the "OK" button. If you want to be sure you've got the correct Experience just select "View Profile". What you see should look something like this:

Once you've added the Experience the land information dialog should look something like this:

You should then be all good to go with the Z&A Experience. If a product uses the Experience an avatar, when their permission is required, will see this sort of dialog:

If they say "Yes" their permission will be remembered (they become part of the Experience) and the product will work seamlessly from them on. They can, of course, remove themselves from the experience at any time.

Please also note that if you'd prefer not to use the Experience the device will carry on working as normal: avatars will simply receive a normal permission request every time.

Eurovision Thong Contest dance

Yesterday afternoon we gathered in the concert hall above Raven Park, specially built by Miss Anna, and had a "Eurovision Thong Contest" dance. The idea was to nod to the recent song contest, while also "celebrating" the upcoming referendum in the UK. Oh, and to make a song/thong pun, of course.

You can find an album of photos from the dance over on imgur. Here are a few highlights:

Many thanks to everyone who came along and made it such fun, to Miss Eve for a brilliant romp through the Eurovision winners over the years (and especially for naming each of the tracks with the year they won so we could all follow along), and to Miss Anna for a great location in which to dance.

Raven Park dance this Saturday

This Saturday it's time for another Raven Park dance. We figured that it was about time to get all topical again, more or less anyway. So take an event that took place not too long back, look forward to a pretty bonkers event that's coming up pretty soon, then throw in Raven Park's love of a good pun and we somehow end up with...

Yes, that's right, it's time to drag out and show off your best skimpy undies while celebrating all things European (or ranting at them, if you're so inclined) and dancing away to Miss Eve's selection of the best (and worst) music Europe (and beyond) has to offer.

Here's the details:

Time: 3pm to 5pm SLT
